This video sums up our short visit to United's Global First Lounge in San Francisco. If I had to put the experience in one phrase, it would be "sushi for breakfast." Yes, they had breakfast foods as well, but when given an option between sushi and anything, I will almost always go with the sushi. The lounge itself was quiet and there were only about five other people while we were there. It isn't the biggest lounge out there, but given the minimal traffic I'd say it's quite nice. What helps to keep the noise down is the fact that the lounge is one floor below the terminal concourse; to access the lounge, you must go down one floor in the elevator after having your credentials checked by the lounge attendants. While some may prefer the ease of just walking straight into the lounge, I think the benefits here far outweight the minor inconvenience. Want to visit this lounge on your next international trip? Have us book your first class award and you too could be eating sushi for breakfast!
